As a pilot zone of opening up and reforms, Shenzhen's pioneering efforts and examples prompted many other cities in China to emulate
it, taking an important role in the development of Chinese contemporary architecture. From high-speed growing to urban regeneration, every phase in the rapid development of Shenzhen is the focus of Academic and the industry. Since 2014, Time + Architecture united with Urban Planning, Land Resources Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, started the research of "Shenzhen contemporary architecture" and related book publishing. We invited experts and scholars to discuss the value and significance of Shenzhen's urbanism and architectural
practice in the past 35 years, reviewing the buildings which could represent the pioneering thought and exploring if the spatial language in Shenzhen is identified. The will book be published at the end of 2015 November, we hope that the opportunity of "Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism \ Architecture" could present the research result through a special form. We will also hold some related academic activities.Based on the content of Urbanism and Architecture in Shenzhen · Shenzhen Contemporary Architecture, we exhibit the development of Shenzhen's urbanism and architecture in the past three decades from multiple perspectives through more than 30 topics in 8 series.
