2017 Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (UABB) is openly soliciting the Collateral Exhibitions/Events. The theme of the UABB (Shenzhen) 2017 is "Cities, Grow in Difference", which encourages people to recognize and embrace the cultural, social, and spatial aspects of different origins, different states, and different values. The theme is the rebellion against the centerism of the mainstream culture, carrying the young people’s energy and passion of innovation in the future. The theme emphasizes the balance of urban ecosystems and multiple perspectives of multiple identities, which embodies the recognition of social pluralism, the recognition of time dimension and spatial diversity and uncertainty, reshaping people's awareness of the life in urban villages and promoting people's understanding of the urban villages’ culture.

The Collateral Exhibitions/Events has become an integral part of the UABB, and it is an effective complement to the main exhibition. The Organizing Committee encourages active participation from all sectors of the society, further expending the diversity and enhancing the vitality of the exhibition. It will also allow the UABB to spread in every corner of the city, to integrate into the lives of the people, and let the public experience a universal cultural event.

“筑作”—— Architectural Work, and Build Architecture. The basic meaning of these two layers expresses the work content and purpose of the architect. Further, the work can be either a real thing or a proposal, a plan, a concept, etc. and including the content that has not yet been implemented or modified.

Therefore, the exhibition uses models, sketches, literature, pictures and other means, showing the construction of DCM works in the creation and construction of the whole process of the specific stages and the results - they are highly abstract thinking concrete results, artistic, and instructive.

We try to think about the theme “Re-living the City” from the perspective of reappearing the city, and put forward the concept of a "theater" (composed of everyday fragments). A city theater that influenced by the environmental infiltration (behavior, climate, landscape, etc.) as the time goes. Through the imagination (behavior or thinking), "cloud theater" will try to test by using the basic element of the city “architecture/space”, show the interaction between substance and spatial environment, and eventually stimulate the creation and imagination of the artificial environment (city / building) with the possibility of dialogue and imagination.
